I don't hate South West Trains
I took the South West trains service from Windsor to Waterloo today, as allowed by my new dual availability ticket, and from thence, a Northern Line train to my destination.
I was at work 15 minutes early, I had a seat throughout, and I enjoyed the scenic views of Staines and Feltham as we sailed through (okay, that bit is a slight exaggeration). It went slowly, but, crucially, it went slowly exactly to time.
It was brilliant. I'm a convert.
Next week I shall be testing the system by trying to use it in both directions to see what happens.
The former drill of either running between platforms or standing and shivering for ages, whilst relying on four separate services to get me to my destination was clearly madness.
Slowly but surely wins the race. Tortoise Power!

GIVE IT A WEEK OR TWO AND IT WILL BE I HATE SOUTH WEST TRAINS....
Don't worry, the 458s are pretty horrible and will start braking down !! ;)
Don't worry, the trains on the WIndsor route aren't 458s, tehy're old reliable 455s...
I dont think you will be back. The other problem with going via paddington is the tube journey down the unreliable circle line with a train every ten minutes if you are lucky.
Dont forget to keep renewing your season ticket at Central to keep on getting the 10% discount. SWT have been so reliable recently that you get nothing for renewal.
In fact you should encourage anybody going from Windsor to renew at Central cheaper than Riverside
Reminds me of a few years ago. i had bought my ticket from SWT but only travelled on the tube and bus. They sent me a cheque for £40 after the Hatfield accident for all the speed restrictions I had suffered !
Train Manager
neither do I
On the Windsor route they're all booked class 450 - however the 458s still invade from Staines onwards
Hello every one,
I would just like to say that we all know that most of the delays are down to network rail and not down to first and to blame them for it all is shameless and just the easy way out.
come one lets put the blame where it belongs we need to put track maintance back into the hands of the goverment.
And as of not having the drivers they have just taken on forty new drivers which will be passed out in the the next two months so get of are backs. and stop being a sheep and start thinking abouy the real problem.
Driver
network rail is in the hands of the government
Bear in mind the guy that sorted SWT out is now heading up FGW...if the DfT actually give him a chance, that is...
You might have to create a new website after the first strikes on SWT
